MBA in Culinary Arts Programme Outcomes

At the end of the programme

  • It promotes the entrepreneurial thinking and practical approach provides the exposure to students to document the recipe and develop the new recipe in culinary Industry.

  • Demonstrate how the organizational behaviour and organizational practices can aid in improving the performances and wellbeing of people at work in the department of Food and Beverage Production.

  • Demonstrate the knowledge of planning and operation of various Food service outlets.

  • Design an accounting and financial information systems for a culinary organisation for management decision making.

  • Ability to conduct investigations and apply effective marketing management practices in food and beverage production.

  • Understand consumer behaviour and the use of appropriate pricing strategies to increase profitability.

  • Assess the forces of globalisation and its impact on the culinary industry.

  • Develop proper food styling and presentations, with emphasis on dietetics and nutrition.

  • Apply principles of ethics in professional environment, giving importance to Food safety and environment within the norms of the culinary industry.

  • Function effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

  • Communicate effectively on various culinary activities with the organisation and society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

  • Demonstrate the knowledge of planning and operation of various Bakery outlets.

  • Recognize the need for and have the ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of changing trends in the culinary industry.

  • After completing this programme, students will able to get the job as a Junior Management Level in Kitchen department. 

Announce Admissions into MBA in Culinary Arts (2020-22)

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

5.1 QUALIFYING EXAMINATION

A pass in full time bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts/Hospitability/Hotel Management (BBA in Culinary Arts, B.Sc. in HHA, BHM, BHMCT) from a recognized Indian or foreign university (as per the AIU foreign equivalence list) with 50% in case of General and OBC candidates and 45% in case of SC and ST candidates. Those appearing in bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts/Hospitability/Hotel Management can also appear in Entrance Examination 2020 on provisional basis. Provisional admission will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent) scoring the required percentage of marks is not submitted at the time of admission or latest by 30.09.2020

The offer of admission is subject to verification of original certificates/documents at the time of admission.  If any candidate is found ineligible at any stage, even after admission to the Institute, his/her admission will stand cancelled.

Note: Only regular bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts / Hospitability / Hotel Management is eligible to apply for MBA in Culinary Arts.

5.2 AGE LIMIT

For candidates from General and OBC categories, upper age limit is 25 years as on 01.08.2020.  Candidates born on or after August 01, 1995 are eligible. (Age relaxation of 5 will be applicable to SC/ST candidate). Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/Pre-University Certificate shall be considered as authentic proof for age criteria.   At the time of counselling, this certificate must be produced in original as a proof of age, failing which the candidate will not be considered for counselling/admission.

Information Brochure can be downloaded from the website www.ici.nic.in or www.thims.gov.in and apply online from 1st Jan, 2020 to 15th July , 2020.

Confirmation sheet (i.e. print out of online application) along with photograph, other documents and payment of application fee through Demand Draft (DD in favour of ICI, payable at NOIDA) should be sent to following address to reach their latest by 30th July , 2020.

7.3 Language of Question Paper

Question Paper will be in English.

7.4 Marking Scheme for (Entrance Examination) Written Test

Each correct answer under Food Production / Management, Food and Beverage Service / Management, Analytical Aptitude / IQ, Human Resource and Strategic Management, Communication Skills in English carries one mark.  There is no negative marking.

7.5 Result of Written Test

Result of Written Test and allotment of seat for admission shall be announced on the ICI website www.ici.nic or www.thims.gov.in. However, the admission should be confirmed by physically reporting of the candidate along with original document and by depositing First semester fee at any of the campus of ICI.

One seat for PD is reserved in each Institute irrespective and categories.

NOTE:  Hostel seats are available in both the campus of ICI, allotment will be done on the basis of demand and first come first serve basis. Charges for hostel etc. as mentioned below in the fee section.

12. SEAT ALLOTMENT PROCESS

12.1 Allotment of seats

Allotment of seat will be made only on the basis of merit and choice filled by the candidate.  Allotment of seat against the reserved category will be made out of the candidates exists in the merit list.

    1. Withdrawal and Refund policy:

  • Where 100% of deposited fee (Rs.79500) is permitted (except the Admission fee of Rs.1000/-) on cancellation of admission before last date of last round of admission  

  • Where part refund of fee is permitted (under this category total amount to be forfeited is Rs.1000 + Rs.37500 which equivalent to 50% of first semester tuition fee and admission fee=38500) on cancellation of admission one day before the commencement of the academic session and not able to cancel seat before starting the academic session but not attendant any classes.

  • Where No Refund is applicable (except Caution Money Rs.2500/-) after commencement of classes. who attended any classes

  • Hostel Fee and Hostel Caution Deposit 

  1. 100% refundable: If facility not availed even for one day

  2. Propionate If facility availed even one day 

 Important Instruction:

Refund of fee shall be made within 45 days by the respective allotted Institute on receipt of written request from the candidate with requisite supporting documents.
